4 brands to boost your mood this Autumn

While October can be a significant month for various reasons, the change of season and the clocks going back, as it gets colder and darker it can be a little more mentally challenging for us all.

This year, with even greater uncertainty clouding over the forthcoming seasons due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is understandable that this time of year can feel unsettling, to say the least.

Many of us will have experienced waking up and coming home in the dark and recognised how this can impact our wellbeing, The thought of this can be rather daunting, however with the new blended approach to working many of us are working from home and only visiting the office on rare occasions so we have to remember to bask in those moments of potential joy.

September was National Suicide Prevention Month in the UK, and October 12th was World Mental Health day and so it feels even more relevant to reflect back and seek perspective on the things we can control and those we simply cannot.

Often, it’s about the little things in life that can make the bigger things all that bit easier to swallow. Little boosts of joy and kindness like when someone lets you out on an impossible road, a stranger holding a door for you or even better, getting to have a coffee with a friend.

As a nation we love our retail therapy, the happiness we derive from a bargain has us discount-dancing around our laptops, as let's face it very few of us want to actually go into stores right now. We know that getting something extra special just that little bit cheaper can make all the difference. Doing this sustainably is an added bonus too and you can do both of those things, right here on

We’ve selected four of our brands whose quirky products might give you a little daily boost of joy you didn’t know you needed!

Victoria Eggs

Take yourself to the seaside with this nautical table and serve ware.

Victoria Eggs’ products are exclusively designed and manufactured in Britain, which is absolutely everything it celebrates: being quintessentially British. Its brightly-coloured homeware accessories are patterned with iconic motifs such as London buses or beach huts that are guaranteed to add a pop of colour to your home and make you smile inside and out. They also make for great ‘just because’ presents, which can be a particularly thoughtful way to brighten up someone else’s day. Its range of aprons sporting funny regional slang words are ideal for those pesky ‘work’ secret Santa presents that have you stuck for ideas.

If you fall, I’ll be there. Love from, Your Yoga Mat.'

Becoming more of a common practice in recent years, Yoga has been proven to decrease stress, relieve anxiety and improve your quality of life. Want to make your practice that bit better? GENKI Yoga makes brilliant, planet-friendly yoga accessories that you’re bound to fall in love with. GENKI yoga mats are made from natural products and are 100% biodegradable and recyclable, and free from any nasty chemicals. But not only that! The mats are designed to give you the best performance during your practice. The microfibre suede top layer absorbs moisture and actually grips the more you sweat and afterwards you can safely bung it in the washing machine so it's always fresh and clean. And if that wasn’t enough, each of their mats features a beautiful and eye-catching design that is sure to make you smile every time you use it.

So what are you waiting for? Grab a mat and start improving your life one downward dog at a time. As Yogi Bhajan once said… “You owe it to yourself to be yourself” so start today.

LSA International

Breathe in a little extra oxygen with these gorgeous planters you won’t be able to resist.

Incorporating house plants into your decor is one of the easiest and most rewarding ways to boost your mood - giving us something to definitely consider. Not convinced? Hear us out. Many studies have proven that having plants in our homes actively boost our mental health and the greener they are the better.

Whilst there is the obvious rewarding nature of owning a plant, as tendering to it and watching it grow can be very satisfying, there are also physical health benefits too. As we know plants take in the carbon-dioxide we humans produce and turn it into oxygen that we use to breathe. This makes us humans and plants the perfect pair, right? Introducing indoor planters, big or small, into your home can increase oxygen levels and remove pollutants in the air, essentially purifying it. It’s also been shown that being in a room full of plants reduces anxiety and stress and can be found to be calming.

Add into the mix LSA International’s stunning planters, pots and vases from their Plant range and you’ve got a recipe for instant satisfaction. Give it a try and see for yourself.

Keith Brymer Jones

It’s all in the small print.

Filling your home with unique accessories that spark conversation and bring excitement to your interiors is exactly what Keith Brymer Jones, world-renowned ceramist, is all about. Designed exclusively by Keith in his studio in Kent, each piece is thought about and designed to be innovative and different. Focusing mainly on tableware including mugs, glasses, plates and textiles, Keith also collaborates with a variety of creative designers to produce product ranges with a vast range of themes and colour palettes as head designer at MAKE International, these include The National Trust, Bert and Bouy and Scion Living to name a few.

What’s even more inspiring about this brand? Keith is severely dyslexic meaning he finds it hard to read a lot of words. This meant, when he was growing up he learnt his vocabulary through the look and feel of letters and words, the true influence behind his world-famous word range. His favourite? The ‘hot’ bucket mug due to the symmetrical look of the word.

These items make for a fun addition to a home if you’re looking to add a personal touch that certainly looks cool when the guests come over. Similarly, they make great WFH mugs for tea on tap.

Of course, we understand that while retail therapy serves its purpose (did you say purchase?), never be afraid to seek help too.
